Mission Statement

Our Mission Statement is “Cultivating the advancement of the Korean-Canadian community through student success” and our guiding principles are as follows:

• Fostering awareness of the Korean-Canadian culture and issues in the GTA
• Providing a forum for the Korean-Canadian community for the advancement of education and social issues
• Providing knowledge, resources, skills to empower the Korean-Canadian community
• Forming partnerships with educators and community

By providing them with this knowledge, we believe that it will foster greater clarity for Korean-Canadians so that they can make informed choices and better decisions for their child(ren). Furthermore, it will have ancillary benefits. Knowledge about the provincial education system will:

• Bridge the cultural and information gaps between parents and their children so that they are active partners in the learning process
• Reduce the stress and anxiety regarding education-related topics
• Increase the participation of Korean-Canadians in Canadian society through greater membership on School Councils, community agencies and the political process
• Support the development of parenting skills in a Canadian context
