Chair's Message

It is my pleasure to introduce myself as the Chair of the Korean-Canadian Educators’ Network, an exciting community organization comprised of dedicated individuals committed to working with Korean-Canadians in the Greater Toronto Area to develop better understandings about the Canadian educational system.

I was fortunate to have been involved with KCEN since its inception in 2005, when a small group of visionary people working in the educational field (teachers, school administrators, representatives from the Korean-Canadian Scholarship Fund and Korean Consulate, and Settlement Workers in Schools) wanted to serve the youth and adults of this generation.

As a principal in the Toronto District School Board, it has been an honour for me to work with such hardworking personnel in this organization. I could not ask for a better group of colleagues, similar to working in a highly-successful school, who share the common mission of bringing greater harmony and understanding. Although all of us on KCEN come with different perspectives and attitudes, these actually bring greater improvements and make us more accountable to the Korean-Canadian community.

I welcome all of you to explore the opportunity to be involved in KCEN and join in the fulfillment of making a difference, both as Korean-Canadians and global citizens.
